Troy Scott rides the Granfondo for Stand Tall
By Nicole Schouela
Troy completed the 122 km challenging Granfondo ride in 5 hours and 20 minutes, a personal record, and this year he avoided the leg cramping that used to plague him at the 100 km mark. For the past six years, he has ridden to raise money for scholarships for Stand Tall graduates pursuing higher education.
Troy trained hard all year with a determination that was impressive to witness. His discipline, enthusiasm and drive contributed to his success. He sets a great example for the learners at Stand Tall. As children that must overcome many obstacles, his example is one that will help them tackle the challenges they face in their own lives.
Troy’s ride has been supporting three students to continue onto secondary or vocational training after they graduate from Stand Tall. With his dedication and your support, these students have been given the wonderful gift of education and the opportunities that brings.
