Haiti Healthcare Education at Albert Schweitzer Hospital

By Karen Schafer

Dr Julie Morin’s reflections on her first project with Rose Haiti Healthcare Education:

“What I remember most about my stay at the Albert-Schweitzer Hospital is the enthusiasm of the participants for the training. Throughout the course, we were able to appreciate their desire to learn, their concentration, their ability to help each other and their desire to perform technical skills well.

The format chosen for the training was great. Identifying 6 resource people, including 3 pediatricians and 3 nurse leaders to accompany us all week was really a good idea. This gives them the experience they need and the background to act as a trainers so they can maintain good practices in neonatal resuscitation in their hospital.”
