Do Children teach their Parents About Brushing their teeth?

Oral Health in Uganda

If a child learns something at school about health that will affect his or her life, then that child is likely to go home and teach what they have learned to their parents. By focusing on health issues that are important to each community, Health Promoting Schools improve the health of whole communities. Dental Hygiene is a great example. In many countries, tooth decay is a major problem leading to tooth ache and serious health issues. In Health Promoting Schools, the children learn about the importance of brushing their teeth and eating less sugar. It has been shown that these children tell their families and the oral health of the whole community improves.
